Hi community,

I am looking for the correct way to set up the following using Applescript:

Open a file in Photoshop or ACR depending on file-type, using a preset filepath that includes the file name.

I have always been able to do this from a platform I use for my photography archive (Claris FileMaker) but the script that handled opening files now fails. So instead of knocking at the door of Adobe Support, let me see if I can handle the action with AppleScript. I have never worked with any AppleScript action, so I need guidance. I have tried a couple of things and from what I have read I am looking for the 'tell' commands.

So what does that look like?
I have the complete filepath, including the filename, in a variable so I can pass that to AS if it accepts things like that.

Can anybody help?

Thanks for your consideration!

Nicky
