prior to the last update when I clicked on a photo either in my photograph folder or on the desktop it opened immediately in photoshop cc 

Now I have to open adobe first then go to file and open the photo from my photograph file. 

this very slow and inconvenient is there a fix to solve this problem

You need to change the file association in your operating system:

• Right-click any psd in Mac Finder or Windows File Explorer
• Mac: File > Get Info (Cmd+I)  > Open with PS
  Win: Right-Click > Open With > PS
• Confirm that you choose for all files with that extension, not just the current file

Thanks for that Jane but unfortunately I had already done this and it still comes up with a creative cloud desktop screen showing that all the installed apps are up to date
Do you have any other ideas?
I would certainly be grateful
