Panning & Zooming In/Out

Hi Everyone. I'm new to Adobe Photoshop (Windows version), and I'm walking through tutorials to get a better grasp of it. I wonder if it's possible to pan around & zoom in/out the image while another tool is active. For example, I have zoomed in far enough that the image windows shows only part of the image; the Polygonal Lasso Tool has been selected & is active, so now I wonder if there's a way to pan around & zoom in/out the image using a certain combination of keyboard modifiers & mouse buttons (e.g. clicking & holding the mouse scroll wheel to pan around the image) or if there's a setting to enable this functionality? For the record, I'm a CAD Designer... so I'm just attempting to do things in a similar way as in Autodesk applications... Thank you!

There are so many ways! Here's a Help page:

https://community.adobe.com/t5/photoshop/panning-amp-zooming-in-out/td-p/11334600?page=1

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/viewing-images.html

I use spacebar to pan the canvas. My favorites for zooming include Ctrl+Spacebar+click or drag, Ctrl + , Ctrl - , Ctrl+0, to name a few.

EDIT: the link to Help is corrected.

Thanks for your reply, Jane!

Just one quick observation, the above link to the Help page you suggested is actually the link to my post. Could you please send me the correct link? I appreciate your help. Thanks!

Yes, but Ctrl+space and mouse click(move) freezes Ph time to time. They can't fix it a year in a row!
