  • What is the height and width of your original image in pixels?
  • What size border do you require?

In this example, my original image was 1500 x 1500 px. To allow for a 50px border all around, I added 100 pixels to the canvas' height and width.  This preserves the original aspect ratio and does nothing to distort the image.  See screenshot.

I do not know what you mean by viewing from mobile, size looks smaller.

Are you viewing at 100% zoom?

The image is portrait size 1080×1383  and I wanted to add customized white border for it height 1 inch and width 3 inch.  I'm  editing from my macbook so once I added border to photo then I shared that picture through by email to my mobile, once I opened that edited image in my mobile the photo it's not in portrait size anymore and it's in 4:3,
For example I attached the screenshot here of orginal image and border and I wanted to get portrait size image with border ...

This has nothing to do with Photoshop.

Ask your e-mail provider what they're doing to shared images.

I want to throw in this tip: When applying a border, checkmark "relative" on Canvas Size to directly enter your border size:
