Photoshop 2020 Concertina effect on Mac

I wonder if you may be able to help me with a problem in photoshop 2020 that has happened today.
All was working fine until this afternoon I think I accidentally must have hit some sort of key board shortcut 
which made a ‘concertina effect’ I cannot get rid of!!
Here is a screen shot of the effect below. It moves in and out when I try to zoom in and out
I have tried shutting everything down but it still remains.

Hi Chris,

 

We're sorry about the trouble with Photoshop. Would you mind sharing the exact version of Photoshop you are using along with your computers macOS version?

 

You can try disabling Legacy Compositing from Photoshop by going to the Preferences, then Performance. Once done, quit and relaunch Photoshop to check if that helps. You can also try to reset the preferences of Photoshop using the steps mentioned here: https://adobe.ly/2Qzc0K3

Please backup your settings prior to resetting the pr
