Photoshop 21.2 lags or runs slowly and not updating the image correctly.

I recently updated all my Adobe apps and Photoshop started lagging when I move objects.  For example, if I move a bitmap logo or any object from point A to point B, it shows the logo/image in both points, A and B. I didn't duplicate the object I just changed the positioning. It's really painful, especially for digital painting. I am using an PC with 32 Gb of Ram so theoretically it should not be a problem...Any clues about how can I solve this? Thank you.

Hi there,

Sorry that Photoshop 21.2 is running slowly, lagging and showing you duplicate images.

The problem related to duplicate/shadow image is a known issue and our engineering team is looking into it.  The workaround is to make sure "Legacy Compositing" under Preferences > Performance menu is unchecked.

For more details, you may checkout the below discussion:

This issue has been documented on our Known issues page: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/known-issues.html#LayerchangesdontupdatecorrectwithLegacyCompos...

Regarding the slowness of the application, please checkout the steps mentioned in this article https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/photoshop-slow-lags.html

Let us know if that helps.

Thanks,

Akash
