Photoshop 22.3.1 Blue Screen of Death on Load

Just tried to "Open with" a small .jpg signature to remove its background in Photoshop. After an initial hang my laptop (i7 HP EliteBook 32Gb memory Win 10 with all updates) went to the good old blue screen of death. I haven't seen this for years, but the nostalgia has worn off and I'd quire like to get on with some work (not to mention that Creative Suite costs something like eleventy hundred million pounds a minute to hire).

After the second crash to blue screen (this time with only file explorer open), I managed to open the tiny .jpg directly from Photoshop. 

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Any plans to stop releasing so many buggy updates?

Quick update. I thought I had all of the latest updated for CS, Win 10 and Intel Graphics card (updated last Friday) but it appears there has been another graphics card update since. Updated the driver and seem to be back working again.
