Photoshop 3D extrusion greyed out.

Hi, @I have bought the adobe design standard cs6 2 or 3 years ago and have just updated all adobe to date but I still having the problem with the 3D extrusion. It is still greyed out. Actually wanted to chat directly with adobe technical support but keep direct me to forums. Can anyone help me in this issue. Will appreciate for the help.

I think the reason you are directed to this forum is you would no longer get one-on-one phone support with CS6, which is several years old now. It might sound harsh, but with nine million creative cloud subscribers, _plus_ all the millions who have older versions, it would be unrealistic to expect life time support for old products. But fear not. The regular posters to this forum a real experts who actually use the product.

OK, do you have the Extended version of CS6? It might be that Design Standard only comes with the full Extended version.

What operating system are you using?

What are your system specs, and specifically your GPU? Is this a desktop system with a video card, or a laptop/notebook that uses onboard graphics? An easy way to get to the bottom of that would be for you to open Photoshop, and go Help > System Info > Copy and paste to this thread.

Answer those questions and we'll take it from there.

Your system is definitely up to spec, so we need to know if you have the Extended version of Photoshop?

Do you have the Analysys fly-out under the Image menu? I think that is only there with the Extended version.

The bottom line is if you only have the standard version, you don't have the 3D features.

Thanks for the help.

Yes, under image menu has the Analysis but only ruler tool is on the rest

is greyed out.

I still confuse about standerd version with and without Extended version.

I do not know how to compare the differences and how to check whether my

cs6 version is the extended version?

Can I call up Creative Cloud for enquire?

This is WAY old, I know, but in case it was still an issue for you or others...have you tried going to Image>Mode> and then selecting either 8 or 16 bit. That worked for me. I was on 32bit and 16bit made some of the grayed-out options available and 8bit made them all available.
