Photoshop and other 2020s selecting extension in Save As dialog box in Catalina

I hate this and it needs to be changed back. When saving a file from within a 2020 app in Caltalina, the extension is now also selected, slowing down the creation process. This is not a feature; it's a nightmare. Microsoft office doesn't do this. Why can't Adobe?

This is a user Forum, so you are not really addressing Adobe here, even though some Adobe employees thankfully have been dropping by.

Adobe CC has some major problems on Catalina. My recommendation is to stay on Mojave for now.

Does anyone have a useful workaround for this? I've just upgraded and am finding this rather annoying as well! It's a brand new laptop so "staying on Mojave for now" isn't an option 😞
