Photoshop brush settings

Hi Guys.

I have a problem with brush settings in PS. Whwn I create a brush and try to customize it in the setting panel, none of the sliders change when I click on the different settings. The only sliders I get are size, hardness and spacing. Can anybody give me advice on how to fix this.

Could you please post a screenshot with the pertinent Panels (Toolbar, Brush Settings, Options Bar, …) visible? 

Which settings in particular are unresponsive? 

What kind of Brush Tip (round, sampled, bristle, erodible, …) did you select?

Along with the questions asked above, how did you create the brush?
