Photoshop Bug when zoomed in (rest of image disappears) - can't zoom out

Rather frequently when using Photoshop 21.1.1, all of a sudden I will only be able to see a small portion of my image. Here's what happens: I am typically zoomed in, retouching at 1:1, and realize I cannot zoom out anymore. It always freak me out, thinking I have somehow cropped my image. When I look at the image in my Navigator I only see the what's in my window, and not the entire image. Today I had a new variation of this, except this time when I tried to re-size my window, it would squish or stretch the image as if I was transforming/ skewing it. Annoying enough that I have gone back to 2019 version (again). So buggy, these 2020 versions. 😞

I am on a Mac Pro, Catalina 10.15.4
