Photoshop Causing Keyboard to Malfunction

Whenever I use the pen tool in Photoshop, when I type afterwards, symbols only come up and not letters or numbers and I have to restart my laptop. Has anyone else ever had this problem before? I have a Macbook Pro.

Sorry that Pen tool in Photoshop is causing you trouble as it's not allowing the numbers to show up when you type afterwards. 

Which version of Photoshop are you using and what is the version of macOS you are using?
