For the past 2 days, I have been trying to have my work edited on Photoshop cc latest version but nothing seems to be working. It is always crashing. From EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION to program error or it, not any of these it freezes and crash each time I try to drag a photo to a new layer. I have a load of work to do and now I can't get even a single layer or page working on photoshop for 5 mins. I need assistance with this. I have an 8GB, i5 Intel core PC. I also can't access my performance option from Edit > Preferences > Performance. Nothing from Edit is working.

You don't have wrote which operating system you are using. But I think you're working with Windows.

In a first step you should reset the preferences to the defgault settings. -> Preferences in Photoshop (adobe.com)

If this doesn't help please try to uninstall the Microsoft security patch (KB5000802) ans check again.
