Photoshop CC 21 -dragging layer styles no longer works!

as stated in the title i can no longer change the position o layer styles by dragging them when their edit dialogue box is active. In all previous versions of photoshop you could change the position of shadows by draggin them, how do i do that now?

edit - I had alligned to layer turned on, turning i off allowed me to edi the gradient position
