Photoshop CS 2021 eraser question?

Hi, everyone! So odd.. When I use Eraser, I usually go to brush tool to choose which brush style to erase. I've been doing that for a very long time. Suddenly.. most likely 2021 version changed it? Because now when I'm on Eraser tool and click on the brush style I want to use with WON'T LET ME. It just automatically go back to Brush tool. I hope I am explaining this right. I am on Mac FYI. Thank you.

Choose the Eraser tool (E) and then right-click to choose your brush or settings.

The tool should not change to the Brush tool (B).

Thanks for taking time to answer, but it didn't work. When I choose my brush, it automatically turned into brush. 🤔  But I found another way to do this by changing Mode.

I'm having the exact same issue on my Mac. I think it's because the brushes are all Kyle's brushes now - I don't have any of the old brushes. I can use my own brushes with any tool but all of the Kyle's brushes are for the brush tool. I can't figure out how to make them work with other tools.
