Photoshop CS6 failing in El Capitan

All,

CS6 is failing while operating in El Capitan. Worked in the past but not sure if it's a Photoshop or El Capitan problem.

A few issues... the ability to select and change colors doesn't work, and occasionally the keyboard will lock up and I'll have to restart the computer. That only happens when using Photoshop CS6.

Thinking of Sierra or High Sierra, will CS6 work there?

No, you are moving further into a less compatible territory. For example you have to use Terminal to run the installer.

Have you tried a Preferences reset? Hold down cmd-option-shift and start Photoshop, click "Yes" to delete the settings file and finish launching. That should clear up problems as the prefs file can get corrupted over time, causing many unexplained problems.

Gener7,

Thx for the tip on preferences, will try.

Don't understand the "moving further into a less compatible territory." and the Terminal to run the installer.

CS6 is no longer supported, so the newer the OS the less compatible the app will be.

Need to use the terminal to bypass the normal installer which will no doubt tell you the app is not compatible with the newer OS.

Thx,

Don't need CS6 support, but very irritated that it won't perform like I got it. I don't like re buying things over and over again. Would like to just solve the issue and make it work. Not in a full time business anymore and can't justify the cost of constant updates.

Perhaps time to switch to Affinity Photo
