photoshop files crash while running

Ok I got a new laptop but this problem happens when I have a file on Photoshop it works fine for a while but when I switch to a diffrent tool or something the file itself freezes and I all i get is the mouse crusor whenever i hover over it. Photoshop still works all i have to do is close the file and open it again but it seems to keep happening. Any idea's on what to do?

 Please share the version of Photoshop along with your computer's OS.

Would you mind restoring the preferences for Photoshop & see if it helps?

I'm running the latest Photoshop installment and the OS is Windows 10, I'll try to restor preferences to see if it works

Does Photoshop crashes while working on a specific set of files or file formats?

it seems like it only happens when I use the defualt 5 X 7 files but i hardly do anthing on it, It usually happens when i try panning
