Photoshop keeps shutting down computer while using the Layers related tools

Running Photoshop and using layer-related tools shut down your computer. Specifications are gtx1660ti / cpu i7 9700k

Sorry that Photoshop shuts down your computer while using the Layers related tools.

Which version of Photoshop are you using and what is your computer OS?

Would you mind deselecting the option "Use Graphics Processor" located in Photoshop's Preferences > Performance menu, then relaunch Photoshop.

If that does not help, try resetting the preferences of Photoshop and let us know if it helps?

To restore preferences quickly using a keyboard shortcut: Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift (Windows) or Option+Command+Shift (Mac OS) as you start Photoshop. You are prompted to delete the current settings. The new preferences files are created the next time you start Photoshop.
