Photoshop patterns in Photoshop 2021

Hello! I cannot change the colour of the pattern on photoshop 2021. For example I have a diagonal pattern in gray colour and I want it red. In older versions I could do that but not in this one.

How did you change the color of Patterns back then? 

Did you use separate Layers set to a Blend Mode like »Color« or »Screen«?

Or are you actually talking about the Layer Style Pattern Overlay? 

Could you please post a screenshot taken at View > 100% with the pertinent Panels (Toolbar, Layers, Options Bar, …) visible?
