Photoshop performance issue after update

What the heck happened with the last Photoshop update?  The transform tools are funky and clunky now. The levels adjustment does not preview as you use the slider. I just updated, so i have no idea what other terrible surprises await. Does anyone know if there's going to be another update that fixes all that's messed up with this one?

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about the poor performance of Photoshop after the recent update, could you please try resetting the preferences of Photoshop and see if it helps? https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html

Note: Make sure that you back up all your custom presets, brushes & actions before restoring Photoshop's preferences. Migrate presets, actions, and settings

Regards,
Sahil

That didn't do anything. And now the preferences that i had for all this time are all gone. Everyone here using Photoshop has the same issue since the update, so i am seeking this fix for all of us.  Any other guesses?

Thanks. I guess this is the only option. It makes no sense to me for all of us to change the way we use the program (using adjustment layers, etc.) just because there are update glitches. I appreciate the response very much!

Use an adjustment layer for levels - alt/opt works in a levels adjustment layer. I'm not having any problems on my Mac.

Thanks, but that is not really a practical solution for the people here who do high volume production work.  Plus, there are glitches across the board. I appreciate the input though!
