Photoshop Program error while trying to use the Object Selection Tool

dear community,

everytime i try to use the "object selection tool" i get a notification error where is written:

the operation could not be performed because a program error occurred.

i dont know what to do now because normally it always worked, but since 2 weeks i always see this error, even after the update. im thankful for every help

We are sorry about the experience with Photoshop due to the program error. Would you mind sharing the version of Photoshop you are using along with your computers operating system?

You can try going to the Preferences for Photoshop, then Performance and check the option for Legacy Compositing. Once done, quit and relaunch Photoshop to check if that helps.
