hi everyone. i'm experiencing slowdowns. Whenever a complex path (X-mas tree for example) is active Photoshop has a slowdown. Every action is in slowmotion, zoom in or out, dragging the image, selecting ancor points or use of the brush, clone etc.
System specs:
- Win 10 Pro; x-64
- Intel i7 - 6850K 3,6 GHz
- 32 GB RAM
- NVidia Quadro M2000, 795 MHz, 4GB
- Dedicated SSD Scratch disk 100 GB
i've tried about all the suggestions mentioned in the helpfiles regarding performance/preferences
so far, im sure its not the ram percentage, not the GPU accelerator, not the cache size, and it's working on the latest version.
Please help!

Sorry to hear about Photoshop's performance issue. Could you please try updating Photoshop to version 21.2.3 through the Creative Cloud app and let us know if that helps?
If that does not work, then try restoring Photoshop's preferences back to default and see how it goes. https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html
Note: Make sure that you back up all your custom presets, brushes & actions before restoring Photoshop's preferences. Migrate presets, actions, and settings

Many thanks for your support.
Updating to version 21.2.3 alone didn't work, no difference at all.
But after restoring the preferences like you suggested there is an improvement.
Still some "slow motion" but workable.

Could you post a jpg that includes one Path that causes the issue for you?
How do you use the Paths – as the basis for pixel operations, as Vector Masks, Shape Layers, …?

Path's are used as clipping parts by our clients. We use them in our retouch process to create Layer Masks.

Thanks, I don’t seem to get noteworthy lagging so far.
The outermost subPathItem looks good, but on the inside there seem to be a few that don’t represent actual background but reflecting highlights.
An aside:
Filling an inverted Clipping Path with white before actually applying the Clipping Path will result in damaged edge pixels.
This is naturally irrelevant against a white background but if the final design might employ dark backgrounds or stack a lot of objects onto each other it might become noticable.

Thanks for your contribution.
The paths are made by another company, because of the flaws we have to correct them before we use them.
For that action they have to be active and that's the moment the system becomes sluggish.
And of course we're aware of the edge pixels issue, but thanks for the sidenote.
