Photoshop tools stop working within a few minutes that the document is open

Hello 

I have the lastest version for photoshop and the brush, earaser and some other tools stop working after minutes of opening my document. I keep needing to restart photoshop but after only a few minutes it keeps reaccuring. Please help

What have you done for trouble-shooting so far? 

Restoring Preferences after making sure all customized presets like Actions, Patterns, Brushes etc. have been saved might be a good starting point:

The first area that I suggest is resetting Photoshop's Preferences (Command K) to access the General preferences window.
