Problem with start up

I just updated my laptops OS (MAC) and for some reason when i open photoshop, it opens like the picture attached. It doesnt allow me to open a new canvas but i can edit saved PDFs i have. Ive already attempted to delete it and re download and no change. Any ideas? please help.
