Problems rendering 3D text

Hi There,

First time using 3D in Photoshop so sorry if this is easy (it's certainly not intuitive!). I've rendered some text (see attached) but have some questions:

1. Why are there dark horizontal lines running through the text?

- I read  answers which said to edit the original text

- I tried doing this and re-saved/re-rendered but this made no difference

2. How do you get Photoshop to just render the text?

- The document is set to a specific size (1080x1920 tall for movie motion posters) ready for compositing

- Why does Photoshop render the full document?

- Other 3D software I use is smarter and only renders needed items as opposed to the full frame

- Is there a way to force Photoshop to just render the text?

Any help or pointers in the right direction would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Ben

It's the rendered image on a transparent background in Photoshop. The lines are visible in the original but the forum has reduced it.  Was about to upload a crop but now can't edit/change the original post because I no longer have permission.

What I've had to do is retouch the lines from the final art. I thought 3D text in photoshop would be simple, intuitive and quick but it was actually the opposite so will go with a plugin like Zaxwerks 3D invigorator in future.

Cheers

The image you posted shows lettle.  we have no idea of what we are looking at.  If that image is something displayed by Photoshop there is no Photoshop UI in you posted image. What Is see dose not lool like a 3D 3D Photoshop layer to me.
