Problems saving edited photos through Photoshop

I use Adobe Photoshop CS5 on a mac and have used it for years without problems. Now I suddenly have problems saving my photos after they have been edited. Normally when I open the photos in iphoto after editing, it's the edited photo - now it's not. However, when I then open the same photo again in photoshop, then it's the edited photo. Really weird - never had this problem before. 
Can anyone help?

Sorry to hear that you're not able to save images via Photoshop. Could you please let us know the operating system version you're working on?

Please try resetting the preferences of Photoshop and let us know if it helps:

Note: Make sure that you back up all your custom presets, brushes & actions before restoring Photoshop's preferences. Migrate presets, actions, and settings
