problems with rotation of images

when I rotate an image by 90 degree clockwise or anticlockwise, in Photoshop, it can be distorted, When I go in small increments it seems to be not a problem. But much more work. Any suggestions?

Could you please post screenshots taken at View > 100% with the pertinent Panels (Layers, Channels, Options Bar, …) visible?

What does it say in the options bar for the Width, Height, and Rotation? As @c.pfaffenbichler said, a screen shot is helpful. Are you using Shift or not?
