PS 2020 - Zoom Shortcuts Behave Differently from 2019

Hi,

I just installed PS 2020 and the zooom functions no longer work as they did in 2019. In 2019 the "Zoom In" and "Zoom Out" options under the "View" dropdown menu would use Animated Zoom and zoom towards the screen center. In 2020 these zoom shortcuts no longer use Animated Zoom, and zooming while the view/canvas is rotated has unpredictable results. Zoom sometimes zooms towards screen center, and other times zooms towards points that aren't on screen. These problems with zoom are bad enough that I've got to use 2019 for now.

For the life of me, I can't figure out how to re-enable this functionality. My settings are exactly as they were in 2019.

Hi, Ps22 that has just been released, does have a zoom centering issue in its fixed issues list https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/fixed-issues.html#photoshop-desktop-fixed-issues

I recommend to install it while keeping the older version installed, as explained in: https://helpx.adobe.com/be_en/download-install/using/install-previous-version.html

Hi There,

Sorry to hear that the shortcuts for zoom are working differently in the latest release of Photoshop. Could you please let us know the operating system you're working on?

What are your GPU settings in Preferences > Performance Graphics Processor (including the advanced settings and drawing mode)

Make sure the Use Graphics Processor option is selected.

Regards,
Sahil

Yeah, Windows 10 x64 - Version 1809, with Cumulative Update Package KB4507469. GPU/Performance settings are in an attached image below.

For what it's worth, setting "Drawing Mode" to Basic and Advanced has no effect on this issue. The weird behavior with zooming on rotated views is also present with the Zoom Tool, with or without scrubbing style zoom enabled. In 2019 with these same settings, zooming is working as expected.

Hi Lorent,

This is a user forum, and we can’t patch it. You can add your comment to the bug report forum here, as reported by Dave earlier in this thread:
