PS 22.1.1 Crashes Constantly

I cannot use this or even several previous versions without having to force quit and restart it every few MINUTES. I do submit a crash report each time - wondering what I can do to fix this? It's maddening to the point when I'm looking to use a different application to avoid Photoshop altogether. I'm not using PS for any heavy lifting - just very basic, non-hi res editing. Please help.

PS 22.1.1

Big Sur 11.2 (20D64)

MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019),

2.3 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9

64 GB 2667 MHz DDR4

AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 4 GB

There is no text or error message. Just spinning beach ball that never stops until I force quit.

I was moving a small text block, or typing in a word, or changing the color of a layer, etc. Doesn't seem to matter since it happens so often.

This is most likely GPU related. What GPU? Is the driver up to date?

Do you have dual GPUs? (many new laptops do). This is always problematic and you will need to disable the intgrated GPU.

Generally, buggy video drivers have been the curse of Photoshop ever since computer games were invented. Most of these problems are caused by buggy drivers.

22.2.0 was released today it has fixed some of the 22.1.1 issues like crashes.  The Line tool function has not been restored and UV overlay still do not function in editing 3D surfaces and do so messes up the menu View>Show>items.  Adobe still has work to do for PS 2021.

It doesn't give the option on the creative cloud app to update to that version yet.
