PS won't open

I have had problems with my photoshop application, and today I have it again. Now I can't even open the program. It comes up with an error box saying "could not initialize photoshop because an unexpected end-of-file error was encountered". I updated to 22.0, installed, it would not open at all, I uninstalled, repeated, to no avail. After looking on the forums and online for a solution, I am stumped.

I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the program but it still won't open. In fact PS does not even show up on my desktop.I did finally find it under common files. I can't go into PS to do anything with changing Preferences because I can't get in at all. Can anyone help?

How do I fix this

Thanks

I moved your post over from the poorly named "Using the Community" forum, which is for getting help using this forum system, to a better forum.

I hope this helps. Best of luck to you.

In the future, So people don't have to download the image you have attached, please use the Insert Photos icon found in the Tool Bar of the Post and Reply text entry dialog window as pictured below.
If you can please Edit your post to remove the Attached screen shot and Include it in the body of the text of your post.

You do that by Clicking the "More..." link at the bottom of your post, Selecting "Edit Message" and then use the "Insert Photos" icon in the tool bar at the top of the Post/Reply/Edit dialog box.
If you can't edit your post please include the screen shot you attached to a new reply to this conversation.
The Insert Photos icon is this one in the Tool Bar.

You don't mention your operating system.  Please ensure your computer meets or exceeds the minimum system requirements to run Creative Cloud + all other apps you intend to use. Check each one. PS 22 needs a modern OS.

Assuming you have a supporting device,  try running the Adobe Cleaner Tool to wipe old apps from your system.  Then perform a fresh re-install of CC Desktop App followed by PS 22.  Restart your computer.

@AndalusianAnne,

Please DO NOT post personal information in a public web forum.  Now that you have, beware of fake Adobe reps who may contact you privately offering to sell you software or take control of your computer. It's a scam, run away!  Real Adobe staff never use Outlook, Gmail, Yahoo or Skype.
