Quick Export suddenly ignoring canvas bounds

I have two large .psb documents, one a variant of the other, and I've been using Quick Export as Jpeg for days with both files.  Suddenly one of the two no longer saves a jpeg using the canvas bounds, but all the pixels that bleed off the edges, so it's incorrectly sized.

I assume I did something to make the 2nd document behave differently but I can't figure out what it is.  The first document still saves jpegs properly.

Is there a toggle switch somewhere that would cause this??

I also copied and pasted all layers into a new document, and the behavior persists.  I also cropped some of the biggest layers to the canvas size, which did not solve the problem.  Using "Save as..." works fine, the resulting jpeg has the correct size.

Thanks in advance for any help!
