Quick Mask lock up

Has anyone had an issue with a file locking up while using quick mask? It happens to me mainly when zoomed in and moving arond in the file. It locks up the file and have to save it and close the file and reopen to continue. It doesn't lock up Photoshop, just that document I am working on.

Started a couple of upgrades ago. I downoladed the newest upgrade 22.2 and still happening. Maybe even more now.

First thought is the Graphics Processor. You could have two GPUs and Photoshop is automatically selecting the more efficient but under powered one. Troubleshoot by disabling the GPU.

Your card might not work well with the newer more demanding versions of Photoshop if you have an older PC. Check https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/photoshop-cc-gpu-card-faq.html

The problem could also be a corrupted Preferences file. Usually that file travels with the upgrades. I'd try a Preferences Reset, but before we do this, back up your custom brushes, workspaces, everything in the list.
