Quick Selection acting up - PS 21.0.3

When using quick selection it works fine for first selection and then when I try to use it again to grab more of a selection, it actually starts acting like I'm holding down the Alt button and deselecting.  This just started recently after an update.  Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks.

That shouldn't be happening, you may try resetting the Quick Selection Tool and let us know if it helps: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/photoshop/kb/basic-troubleshooting.html#tool
