To the developers... Who in the WORLD on the development team messed up the "Save As" in this latest version of Photoshop???  Please put all the file formats BACK in the "Save As" option... The "Save As Copy" causes extra steps.

Because of the change, when I want to save a jpg, I now have to click "Save as Copy", it puts up a file name with the word "copy" in there... I have to erase this word "copy" every single time i save a jpg. If you are determined to keep this horrible Save As Copy to get a jpg, then at least put an option in the program for the users toclick the option off or on to have the word "Copy" in the filename. I don't want the name "Copy" anywhere in my filenames. Extra steps to slow you down to erase the word "Copy". Totally horrible and not needed.

Did you do a Forum Search before posting?

Also you are not really talking to the Photoshop team here, but rather to fellow Photoshop users.

In case you are a professional Photoshop user you may want to look into Scripting to save jpg-copies off of layered images – having to select the file format from the dropdown list alone should be reason enough to automate the task, using relative locations and avoiding this naming issue are added advantages.

Moving jpeg to Save A Copy is caused by Apple removing the API that Photoshop used. The new API does not allow stripping "-copy" from the filename. So that was Apple, not Adobe, and Photoshop is just adapting to the new MacOS reality.

Also applying this change to the Windows version was an Adobe decision, though.

I think it was a reasonable decision but I understand that WIndows users might disagree.
