I'm trying to move a copy of Photshop 7 from an old pc to a new one and on install it's coming up with the error 'The serial number is not valid for this product' when it's the one that came with the product and intalled ok on the 'old' pc. I checked using Belarc for the original seriel number on the 'old' pc and it's the same number! Any suggestions?

What is the OS and version on your new computer? It may be that it's not compatible.

You'll need to contact Adobe Customer Care for assistance with serial numbers.

I don't think Adobe will assist with a serial number for Photoshop 7

Is it an upgrade serial number?

The serial number should be 24 digits (no letters)

(X's represent numbers)

That said, Photoshop 7 is a relic.  It's highly doubtful it will run on modern equipment.

Photoshop Elements 2020 (approx $100, no subscription needed).  It lacks the bells & whistles of Photoshop CC but it's light years ahead of PS7.

Serial numbered software typically had a set number of allowed activations per license.  I think you may have used up your allotment.  Given the advanced age of PS7, I don't know if customer support agents can reset your activation count or not.  But it's certainly worth a try.   Log-in to your account below.

Good luck!

I'm pretty sure activation did not start until CS or v8, and even the activation servers for that have long been taken down.
