When I had a darkroom, I used to do part of the exposure with difussion panel (soft focus filter or nylon stocking) held under the enlarger lens. This had a nice effect of making the blacks bleed into the whites, which is the opposite effect of using a soft focus filter at the shooting stage, where the whites bleed into the blacks.
Is there any way to re-create this effect in Photoshop?
