Running Photoshop CC 22.3.1
Can't get the Recent Files to display.
Went to Edit Preferences General but there is no "Show Recent Files Workspace..." box to check.
Am stymied as to how to get the recent files panel back.
To All -
The current update to 22.4.1 fixed the problem. All good now! Until the next bug appears 🙂

Try the Restore Default Workspaces button.
Then check that the Recent files is 50 or more:
Then click the Home button to see your recent files.

Thank you gener7. Am on Windows 10 machine.
Tried your suggestion. No luck.

Ok. Try opening an image on your computer and then try the Home icon and select Home on the left side. The file you opened and closed should now be a thumbnail in that screen.

Thank you once again! Tried that yesterday. No luck.
Perhaps an uninstall is needed?

Yes, do that through the CC Desktop app. Be sure to check the option to keep your settings.
Install 22.3 instead 22.3.1 It's under "Other versions" Click that 3 dot menu. Do not update to 22.3.1 yet.

So I did the same because 22.3.1 was not detecting my video card. It's all good now. 22.3.1 is buggy on my end and I won't touch that update. What I did is called "downgrading" or "rolling back".
I hope 22.3 works for you, Chaz. It's evening here, so I won't be going anywhere. 🙂

Followed instructions. Now running 22.3.0 No luck again.
Thank you very much for your suggestions. Appreciated.
Signing off for tonight and will investigate further tomorrow (not that I really need the Recent File Panel - just annoys me when things don't work as expected.)

Hi Chaz
I know that feeling. At this point I would say sign out of the Creative Cloud app, reboot and sign in. If this fails you can start a chat with Adobe Support.A good agent can remotely look at the problem.
Use this link : Welcome to Adobe Customer Care! Need help?
-Click the chat icon at the bottom right of the page to open a chat session
-The chat icon looks like '3 dots inside a circle' at the lower right
-Type AGENT into the chat window to connect directly to a person
Make sure you do not have an ad-blocker running and that you "Allow Cookies" or you may not see the chat icon.

Thanks for your continuing suggestions.
1. Signed out and back in on CC. No change.
2. Initiated chat. Agent had me update NVIDIA driver. No change.
No further troubleshooting attempted yet.

I got this issue first time when updating to 22.4.3.
I messaged support Adobe site and agent replied with the following - We apologize for the inconvenience. I would request you to please wait for next release and update for Photoshop, you will be able to see thumbnails and preview in Photoshop homescreen.

Adobe support had me go all the way back and install version 21.2.7
That fixed the problem.
Now the question is what version to use since all newer updates tout the "improvements, issues, bug fixes, etc."

I'll mark that as the correct answer. Glad you finally got it resolved.

Interesting info about my issue:
1. Adobe tells me there is a known issue where Photoshop does not recognize the GPU and their engineers are working on this - hence my problem.
2. However, I have 3 Windows 10 laptops running the latest version 22.3.1 except for the machine I reverted back to 21.2.7 today.
One of the other laptops recognizes the GPU and runs the Recent File thumbnails as expected.
The other laptop does not recognize the GPU but also runs the Recent File thumbnails as expected.
All-in-all a strange anomaly...

Same here. No recent files showing in the workspace upon opening version 22.4.3, but, if you right click on Photoshop on the task bar, they are listed there. Very strange.
