I've automated updates on so I've the latst version of Photoshop.

I've tried everything I could find and think of. As of like three weeks back everything worked fine but suddonly Photoshop was reacting very slow and it's unworkable. I'm only using 50%-80% of system resources (CPU and RAM).

Windows and Graphic card drivers are up-to-date.
I've tried to install older versions, first one version back (22.2) and then 21.2.6 to see if that would solve the problems and it didn't. Resetting preferences to standard didn't do anything. Increasing and decreasing cache levels / decreasing history states / disabeling Graphics Processor. All these things didn't help.
I hope anyone can help me because working with PS is just nog possible atm.

Hi,

We're sorry about the trouble with Photoshop. Would you mind telling us if you started experiencing the issues right after the latest Photoshop update or any Windows updates?

You can try to reset the preferences of Photoshop manually using the steps mentioned here: https://adobe.ly/3dFRlyi

Please backup your settings prior to resetting the preferences. You can check: https://adobe.ly/2vNz6FG

You can also try optimizing the preferences of Photoshop using the steps suggested here: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/optimize-photoshop-cc-performance.html

Let us know how it goes!

Regards,

Nikunj

Hi Nikunj, thanks for your response.
Because of the automtated updates of Photoshop I'm not 100% sure if it was before or after the problems started. I know for sure I did the windows updates after the problems started.

Resetting the prefernces using the steps here https://adobe.ly/3dFRlyi did not resolve the problems.

Followed the preferences guide.

-I'm not sure if the settings with RAM will help me in any way as the efficiency indicater says that it has an efficiency of 100%. I still increased the dedicated Ram to 75%. The problems start even with a small blanc page so I'm not sure if it's a system performance issue.
-scratch disk has 139 GB of free disk space

I recorded me using the lasso tool in PS, with a small file size and just one layer, and added it as attachement. This is how problematic PS is performing.
