The only way I know on Windows is to use File Explorer to navigate to  :
C: > Users > username > AppData >LocaLow > Adobe > Linguistics > UserDictionaries > ATE User Dictionary > all > added.txt

Open file added.txt using notepad then edit the entry, save and close

Hi Richard,

Not sure if I understand the issue correctly, could you please provide some more detail?
A screenshot would be helpful as well.

Also, what version of Photoshop and the Operating System you're using?

Regards,
Sahil

I am using Adobe Photoshop CC. I did a spell check and when it underlined a word I accidentally added it to the dictionary rather than ignore (the spelling mistake was deliberate)..
