Hi everybody, 19.1.19 i am

I want to remove some of the guidelines but

-not hiding them: view/not view

-not clearing all: clear all

-not one by one: click on & drag out...

I want to select some of them together by click-drag (possibly out of page or on ruler?) and then throw them out all i selected...

I this possible? or just a wish for new versions?

Thanks.

Guidelines do not print or show in the final image.

What is the issue?

Hi Derek, thanks for interest...

I use lot of them, than need to get rid of most of them, but not all.

I can't be with or without them so i get bored to clear one by one...

Hi

No, there is no easy way in PS to select and delete some of the guides without clearing all of them. There are several ways to do this in both InDesign and Illustrator, so you might want to put in a feature request to the Adobe staff:

Thanks Jane,

I have sent my wish to the family. The rest for me is only waiting...

I am happy to add an idea for humanity 🙂

Hi Cemmu,

In both InDesign and in Illustrator you can

  • (optionally) put guides on one or more specific layers, then lock, hide, select-all-on-the-layer, delete, etc
  • drag to select multiple guides and press Delete
  • select guides with Cmd or Shift, then press Delete

In InDesign, if you drag across guides and objects, you select objects only. If you drag across guides and no objects, you select guides.

Both handles guides much more intuitively than PS, imho, but it shows what we are looking for here.

Hi there,

No, this is not possible. But there is a way around this. Instead of using ordinary guides, make your guides using the line tool. Next group your lines together using ctrl+g on your keyboard on Windows or cmd + g on a Mac. Now, when you select the group, you can move multiple "guides" at once.

Regards,
Sahil

Thinking out loud...

* Script to convert guides to paths

* Delete unwanted paths

* Script to convert paths to guides

P.S. I don't have these scripts, so it's just an idea!
