Removing checkered background from glass stock img

Hey,

I'm not quite familiar with photoshop yet.. but I've searched the whole web and I can't get an answer to my problem.. I hope to get one here.

I purchased https://stock.adobe.com/nl/Library/5293aa18-7607-49c0-8b03-65361a7cd899?asset_id=318175290   an img of glass.

I download this as vector, open it in PS (as vector ai file), but the img appears as one layer. I would love to be able to use the see through glass, but this makes it impossible to see anything other than a checkered background.

At this moment I'm stuck to creating a window looking at a sideways checker game- not the reason I wanted to use it.

Does anyone know how I can solve this? I would be really grateful.
