Render Lighting Effects Enabled, but not working - Photoshop 2020 on macOS

I am working on a Mac, software up to date. I'm working with photoshop 2020 in creative cloud.

The render lighting effects is enabled, I can click on it and it opens it; however, no actual lights are showing up. If I slide the bars to make adjustments they do not do anything. I've used the this setting before so I'm not sure why all the sudden it won't work??

Please help!

Hi there,

That does not sound like a typical experience with Photoshop, could you share Photoshop Help > System Info text here? You can simply copy and paste the content here.

Also, could you go to Photoshop's Preferences > Performance > Advanced Settings and make sure Open CL/GL is checked?

You may try some GPU (Graphics processing unit) troubleshooting steps mentioned here: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/troubleshoot-gpu-graphics-card.html

Let us know if it helps.
Regards,
Sahil
