I have "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2018\Photoshop.exe" "%1" in

both HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications\Photoshop.exe\shell\edit\command and HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\image\shell\edit\command.

When i right click and click "edit" for a psd or another photoshop file, photoshop opens that file. But if i click "edit" for an image in jpg, bmp, gif, png etc. file types, photoshop is opened but it doesn't open such images.

Why  jpg, gif, png etc. image can't be opened when i click "edit" in right click menu? It's faster than right click > open with > photoshop.

Hello, it might be a setting at the OS level, tied to files association, but it seems that you are already swimming in deep regedit waters...

There was no such problem with photoshop cc 2015. Click on "edit" opened any kind of image.

I think the file types  jpg, gif, png and so on are not associated to PhotoShop as there default application.

Example for .jpg-files:
