Save As very slow with new Photoshop

Ever sincce I installed the new  Photoshop everything takes for ever!!  Especially SAVE AS.  I sit here for over a minute every time I go to SAVE AS.  Then the box with the folders in takes for ever to load.  It is becoming unbearable and I am losing the will to use Photoshokp ever again.  Can anyone help please?

Please confirm your version of Photoshop and OS.

How much RAM and spare disk capacity do you have?

Have you tried resetting your Photoshop preferences, which you can do under the General tab in Photoshop preferences?

I have Photoshop 22.01.1.

Operating sytem OS Catalina.

I have reset my preferences.

I have one half TB disc space.

8GB RAM which I have been told is plenty.
