Hello,

I took a picture of the Brooklyn Bridge, the area on the right of the first pillar of the bridge is blown out, so the strings cannot be seen. I was wondering if there is a way to save this area?

Many thanks for any adivce.

Regards,

Tim

If the original is a raw file, you might be able to retrieve the detail by doing a local adjustment in Camera Raw with the Adjustment brush set to a negative Highlight value.

If it is a jpg, you can improve it a tiny bit using the same kind of adjustment with the Camera Raw filter.

A jpg only contains what you see on screen, but a raw file contains loads of information which is not immediately visible, but which can be brought out by editing in a raw converter like Camera Raw or Lightroom.
