Saving files

I am using a Mac Laptop and I am having trouble closing the app. The app is Photoshop and this is what the message says,

"The document “Playing cards and AD-2.psd” will be closed after saving has completed."

The problem is it won't save. So because it's not saving I can't shut my computer down, uninstall or update.

Any clues or hints any one I'm willing to try.
