I bought a new macbook pro, and I installed photoshop onto it. Photoshop says that my scratch disk is full, but I have not started anything on it.
Is there any way to stop this?

You did not say how big your hard drive is or how much free space is on it. You can find this in the Apple menu.

I used a macbook air (early 2015) before I started using this macbook pro, so I am wondering if the photoshop app has any old data from the old laptop that is causing the scratch disk to be full.

Wrong screenshot. Go one down to "scratch disks".
