Script to Export + Name Groups as .jpg

Just trying to figure out if there could be a script to export a selection of groups and also name them (using a dialog box or parent folder perhaps?)

Im currently doing retouch work and have to save out small sets of images, named with the correct product SKU. an example of the naming convention required would be '27-09-2020_xx@SKU-HERE@1.jpg'

In this example would it be possible to create a script that saves out all of these images correctly renamed? providing the PSD is named '27-09-2020_xx@'?

Thanks for any help in advance!

You should be able to script that. As long as you target a group the script could duplicate the group into a new document with the document named for  the group and parent and current date time. Save the new document to the current document path folder as a jpg and close the duplicated document.

good stuff! any reason why it would have to be duplicated into a seperate document?

I'm also struggling to find the code to only interact with selected parts of the PSD, any idea what that may be?

My reason was because with one function you named  the output file and isolated the Layers  then save as and close three steps. No matter how you look at it you saving a new document.  You  can use different steps to save that new jpg document from the current document. Duplicate group seemed to be an easy clean way to do it without having to change anything in the current document.
