I was really excited to try this method out, as I had not used it before. I'm hoping I'm just missing something. I define my pattern and am able to see all previews, but when I hit ok, the layer never fills. The "Progress" dialog box comes up thinks, looks like it is working, but nothing fills.

I have repeated this many times with simple shapes and both high & low resolutions and it simply will not fill. I have to be missing something?

Check the (previous) fill dialog.

Maybe you have "preserve Transparency" activated - uncheck it.

I just checked with the latest version of Photoshop I had. This is working even for a custom pattern. Kindly share the version of Photoshop you are using. Try cleaning up preferences after taking backup of your presets as it might fix the issue.

Thank you, it's always something so simple, yet invisible.
