Shape tool settings locked in Photoshop

So, I've created a rectangle with the shape tool in photoshop and I want to change the fill and stroke color/point size but for some reason the settings are locked for it in the properties menu and I dont know how to unlock it. It's stuck on [none] for the fill and stroke and I'm trying the press the options to change them but they wont work, and they're showing up transparent so this is what's leading me to believe they're locked. I hope I explained this well, please help me! D':
